Charles "Chuck" Phelps

Charles Wayne Phelps, 72, of Beaumont passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his residence. Charles was born in Beaumont, on August 10, 1944. He is the son of the late Brooksy B. Phelps and Florence Oliver Phelps. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and he loved to fish.
Those left to cherish Charles’s memory are his loving wife, Bertie Phelps of Beaumont; son, Curtis Phelps and wife, Christina of Beaumont; daughter, Debbie Hill and husband, Kerry of Lufkin; step-son, Blake Heisler and wife, Dolores of Winnie; step-daughter, Stacy Heisler of Port Acres; sister, Shirley Jones of Dallas; grandchildren, Taylor Phelps, Rebecca Hill, Zachary Hill, Alexander Hill, Blaine Heisler and wife, Kendrick; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Heisler and Asa Heisler, and numerous family and friends. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janice Faye Phelps; sister, Evelyn Gilkerson and brother, Everett Phelps.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, TX. There will be a graveside service at Mt. Pisgah Community Cemetery on CR 4264 in Woodville, TX on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, TX.
