Dorothy Agatha Bienvenu

Dorothy Brasseaux Bienvenu, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away April 5, 2014 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. Dorothy was born in Church Point, Louisiana on December 21, 1934 to the late Elie Guidry and Agatha Higginbotham Guidry. She retired from PN- G School District.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Groves on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Mitchell Guidry celebrant. A Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the funeral home prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Sosthene Brasseaux and Raymond Bienvenu; her sisters, Louise Thibodeaux and Leota Thibodeaux; her brothers, Leroy, Huey, and Herman Guidry; and her grandchildren, Tony and Melodie Sexton. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Sexton and husband, Craig of Groves and Lisa Fletcher and husband, Billy , Jr. of Nederland; her sisters, Yvonne Higginbotham, Belle Stafford, and Joyce Thibodeaux, all of Church Point, Louisiana; her brother, Leo Guidry of Church Point, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Natalie Gassen, Toby Sexton, Cody Sexton, Crystal Pinder, and Trey Fletcher; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She will be missed and was loved by all who knew her.
