Earl Ray Daily was born January 6, 1942 in Port Arthur, TX to Charles Daily and Gertrude Caprito Daily and passed into Heaven, August 25, 2013, in Winnie. Mr. Daily graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, Port Acres, was in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a Chemical Truck driver and a member of Teamsters Local 988 for 30 years until his retirement. Earl is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Sanda Lyn Meaux and Susan Lynette Daily; sister, Helen Truman Crowder and 5 half-brothers.
He leaves behind brother, Jimmie W. Daily and wife, Cherie of Nome; sister Charlotte Peters of Deer Park; brother-in-law Tolbert Crowder of Beaumont; ex-wife Mattie Hearnsberger of Vidor, grandchildren, Anthony Earl, Aran Wynn and Stevie Ray Meaux, Rachel Renee Ing ram and husband Chris, and Tony Lee Daily; and 4 great-grandchildren; Uncle Paul Dobrick, Jr. and wife Joe Anne of San Antonio; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX and funeral services will be Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
The family would like to give special appreciation to The Arboretum Nursing Home and all staff for their kind and loving care given to Earl, especially Ms. Larken and Jo Scott. Also a special thanks to Pauline Breaux for her continued kindness and care for Earl.
