Frances Mabel "BeeBee" LaGrange

BeeBee Henry LaGrange, she was born Thursday, 2nd of March, 1939. She was 3rd and youngest child born to the late Eldridge and Mabel Thibodeaux Henry. She spent a lot of time with her Grandmother Thibodeaux and her Aunt Bo.

BeeBee loved to dance and by the time she was 2 years old she was at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Lafayette, La. She was awarded the highest medal in the studio for her dancing skills. She was also part of a weekly live dance show on the local Lafayette television station.

BeeBee and Kenneth married on September 19, 1959 at Immaculate Conception Church in Morse. Kenneth was in the Army and stationed at Fort Knox, KY. While on leave he returned home to marry his Sweetheart "B". After the marriage BeeBee returned with Kenneth to Kentucky. After he was honorably discharged, they moved to Port Arthur, Texas. Kenneth went to work for Texaco and BeeBee to her dancing.

After the move to Port Arthur, Texas, she opened up her own studio "B” Sharp Studio." She also taught in many clubs, private parties, and on many cruises along with her late husband, Kenneth. Her dancing career spanned over 55 years.

She also taught P.E. at St. Joseph School in Port Arthur. BeeBee and Kenneth loved baseball and for a time Kenneth coached the Ladies softball team that BeeBee played on and together with the Ladies won several tournaments. BeeBee also coached a girls’ softball team and along with the girls won several tournaments.

She loved spending time with her family and going to the lake at Sam Rayburn. At the camp with all her friends they would play cards and had many parties at the Jones Party Barn, next to her camp. She loved playing the slot machines and spent much time playing and visiting with the friends she had at the club in Bridge City. She and Kenneth also enjoyed the many trips to the Casinos in Las Vegas and Louisiana.

BeeBee is survived by her two children, daughter, Jeana LaGrange & her husband, Doug Istre, of Port Arthur, Texas, and son, Kenneth Tracy LaGrange & his wife, Katherine of Houston, Texas; her two grandchildren, Nichole Knott Harvey & her husband, Robert and Cory Knott & his wife, Loretta all from Vidor, Texas; her special sister-in-law, Lynell LaGrange and her husband, Roland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding BeeBee in death, her husband of 52 years, Kenneth James LaGrange; her parents Eldridge and Mabel Thibodeaux Henry; two brothers, Gerald Henry & his wife, Hazel Landry, and Louis Henry & his wife, Marilyn Melancon.
