John Eugene Heslop Sr.

September 2, 1932 — September 23, 2015

John Eugene Heslop, Sr., 83, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home. He was born September 2, 1932 in Waco, Texas to the late Earl S. Heslop and Myrtle A. Goodgion.
John was retired from Foster Wheeler, where worked as an accountant for 35 years. John was a member of Fellowship Baptist in Nederland, Nederland Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, El Mina Shrine – Galveston, Scottish Rite – Galveston and the Shrine Clown Unit.
John is survived by his daughter, Ann Seth and husband, Greg of Everette, WA; sons, John Heslop, Jr. of Marquette, MI; Danny Heslop of Dickerson, TX and Roger Heslop; sister Francis Henderson of Fort Worth, TX; brother Melvin Heslop of Petersburg, VA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Close friends “Bud” John Castro of Nederland; Paul and Kathy Goodwin of Beaumont. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Crews Heslop; sister, Thelma Stewart and brother, Muriel Heslop.
A visitation for family and friends will be Friday, September 25, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral Services will also be held at the funeral home, Saturday, September 26, 2015, 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
