Linda "Sue" Trahan

August 30, 1946 — January 10, 2018

Linda “Sue” Trahan, 71, of Nederland, Texas., passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her residence in Nederland.
Sue was born on August 30, 1946 in Leesville, LA., to the late, Dempsey Hunt and Ruby Lee Talbert Hunt.

A devoted wife of over 50 years. A wonderful Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mom, Aunt and Granny. The one we looked to for advice. The song that woke us in the morning. A smart, strong woman and wonderful example of dedication and perseverance. She will be remembered fondly and missed by those of us who were blessed to know her. She is unchained from her earthly body that could no longer hold her beautiful spirit. She was admired and cared for by many. Especially her husband. Together they showed us what Love is: (1 Cor. 13: 4-8). You are forever in our hearts...

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 51 years, Stephen C. Trahan of Nederland; daughter, Tracey Tatum and her husband, Pate of Nederland; son, Troy Trahan and his wife, Kristi of Bridge City; sisters, Glenda Bush of Port Neches, Donna Sessions and her husband, Tommy of Nederland, Dolores Lupo and her husband, A.J. of Port Neches; grandchildren, Colby Trahan and his wife, Jordan of College Station, Jacob Trahan of Bridge City, Beau Tatum of Nederland and Brianna Tatum of Nederland; and a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Dempsey Hunt and Ruby Lee Talbert Hunt, and Floyd and Katherine Trahan; and her brothers, Ronald and Rodney Hunt.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of her caregivers that prepared mom for her final journey home, especially “Cool” Cathy Gohlke with Harbor Hospice for her love and compassion.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery in Nederland.
