Rodney Landry, 70, of Nederland, Texas passed away December 17, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on November 1, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Dewey and Sidonie Landry. Rodney was a native and lifelong area resident. He started working in the grocery business at the age of 14 and worked for Roys Grocery Store, and owned and operated Rodneys Hello Grocery Store. He was the cofounder of the Sea Ranch Cafe. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches on December 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Msgr. Bennie Patillo celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012.Rodney is preceded in death by his parents his daughter, Christy Landry and his granddaughter, Alexis Landry sisters, Maizel Locke and Annabelle Campbell brother, Lloyd Landry brother in law, Billy Locke, and sister in law, Maydelle Landry. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Landry of Nederland his three sons, Craig Landry and wife Trish of Port Neches, Brian Landry and wife, Regina of Port Neches, and Shawn Landry and wife, Michelle of Port Neches his sister, Elizabelle Menard of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana his brother, Curtis Landry of Groves and his grandchildren, Dawson Landry, Luke Landry, Brooke Landry, Allie Landry, Kaylee Landry, Konnor Landry, and Logan Landry. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
