William Stubbs

1931~2017 - William Edward Stubbs, 85, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Bill served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954. He retired from Mobil after 27 years of work. Bill was a loving Husband, Father and Pawpaw. His passion was spending time in his shop doing woodwork and painting. The grandkids would always say, “if Pawpaw can’t fix it, no one can”. He also loved to visit his friends every morning at the Walmart McDonalds for coffee and enjoyed the Friday night dinners and dominos with his friends.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patsy; daughters, Lesley Stubbs, Kay Stubbs, Lyndi Reed and husband, Dave, Kellie Davidson and husband, Vernon; brother, Mark Stubbs and close friend Don Willson; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, that he loved dearly. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Clara Stubbs; daughter, Karen Peacock; sisters, Cecile Stubbs, Gwen Whitehead, Bonnie Lou Mifflin, Muriel Stubbs and brother, Carlton Stubbs.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, with Father John Hughes officiating. The interment will be at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
