Betty Jane Wise

Betty Jane Wise, 81, of Nederland, Texas passed away December 27, 2018. She was born in Waurika, Oklahoma on June 5, 1937 to the late, Marcus Hugh L. Gay and Evelyn M. Davenport Gay. She was a retired bookkeeper for Gayletta’s Photography.
Those left to cherish Betty’s memory are her husband of 63 years, Robert Wise of Nederland; her son, J. R. Wise and his wife, Jody of Nederland; his daughter, Gayletta Tompkins of Nederland; her sister, Sydenia Dean Graber; her grandchildren, Chad Simmons, Jeremiah Wise, Alettra Hudson, and Ashley M. Wise; and her great-grandchildren, Brett Hudson and Camdyn Simmons. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Chiquita Ann Smith and Sheridon Sue Wright; and her great-grandson, Luke Allan Simmons.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Billy Graff, officiant. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.
After the graveside service, family and friends are invited back to Gayletta’s home, 1104 N 17th St, Nederland for a time of memories, love, laughter, and food.
