    Carlie McCord Waite

    January 10, 1937 - April 4, 2022

    Carlie McCord Waite, of Nederland, Texas passed away from this life on Monday, April 4, 2022, at her residence in Nederland with her loving family at her side. Carlie attended schools in Port Arthur, Texas and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1955. She continued her education in Port Arthur Business College and received her Stenographer Degree in 1956. In April 1956 she married the love of her life, Vernon (Pat) Waite and they shared many wonderful years. Out of this union, there were two sons born. Eddie R. Waite and Alton A. Waite. These two sons brought so much happiness and love into their mother’s life. Carlie worked for the Iron Workers Local #125 for 29 years where she met so many good friends and always considered them as part of her family. Carlie is survived by her husband Vernon Pat Waite; sons, Eddie R. Waite and his wife Tandi and Alton Waite and his wife Nancy. Her sons and their families brought so much pride and love into her life. She is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren, Eddie Waite II and fiancé Morgan, Josh Waite and wife Allison, Christie Thompson and her husband Blake and Aaron Waite. Great Grandchildren, Henry, Caroline, Jude and Ethan Waite. Jacy Winfrey, Bryson and Kambri Montoya and Cadence Thompson. Other survivors include her sister Donnis Romero and brother Alton McCord and his wife Carline; her sister-in-law’s, Nerena McCord and Linda Waite; many nieces and nephews. Carlie is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mattie McCord; brother, Ralph McCord; sister Loretta Lee; mother and father-in-law, Pearl and Eddie Atkinson; brother-in-law’s, Sam Waite and Rodney Romero. A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Carlie McCord Waite will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place before the services from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jason McCord, Jeremy McCord, Aaron Waite, Josh Waite, Eddie Waite II and Blake Thompson.
