Charlene McCranie, 83, of Groves, Texas passed away on October 3, 2021. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on April 30, 1938 to the late “A.J.” Alan Jack McCranie and Hazel Gonsoulin McCranie. Those left to cherish Charlene’s memory are her cousins, Raymond and Beverly Teller, Jessica and Ashley McGlothin, Daniel and Serdalia Teller, Matt Teller, Kevin Teller, Johnny Teller, Lori Stansbury, Sherry Pinkard, Glenn and Mary Harris, Larry and Rose Harris, Monty and Jean Harris, and Susan and Dan Hohnbaum; her best friend and caregiver, Carol Duplissey; and numerous family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 1:30 p.m and a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m., Rev. J. C. Coon officiant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
