Edward G. “Zigy” Zizmont, Sr. 77, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 in Beaumont, Texas. He was born in Pedricktown, NJ. on May 5, 1941 to the late, Anthony Zizmont and Helen Siedzikowski Zizmont.
Edward served his country proudly in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division. Those who knew him best knew him simply as “Zigy”. He retired from Total with over 35 years of service as an electrician. He also loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Those left to cherish Edward’s memory are his wife, Judith Zizmont of Nederland; son, Edward G. Zizmont, Jr. and his wife, Risa of Port Neches; daughters, Kim Howard and her husband, Randy of Beaumont and Barbara Poole of Nederland; sister, Helen Orbanus and her husband, Dan of Swedesboro, NJ.; grandchildren, Gavin Zizmont, Courtney Zizmont, Savannah Zizmont, Kyle Howard, Kevin Howard, Tabatha Hopson and her husband, Jarrett, Ashley Turner and her husband, Brian, Matthew Gallier, Travis Gallier and Brixie Gallier; great-grandchildren, Ryder Turner, Kilei Turner, Macoy Hopson and Madden Hopson.
In addition to his parents, Edward is preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Zizmont, Jr. and Francis Zizmont; and his great grandson, Brady Turner.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Father J.C. Coon will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with full Military Honors.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Edward’s grandsons, Gavin Zizmont, Kyle Howard, Kevin Howard, Matthew Gallier, Travis Gallier and great-grandson, Ryder Turner.
