Gloria A. Lazard Whittington

Gloria A. Lazard Whittington, 79, of Lumberton, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019. Gloria was born February 26. 1940 in Glenmora, Louisiana to the late Louis Lazard, and Hattie Valentine Lazard. She started as a scrub nurse and worked in the medical field her entire life, eventually retiring as Volunteer Director from Christus Health Care. Gloria absolutely loved caring for her pets. They were always by her side.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Virgil Whittington of Lumberton; her daughter, Lori Labove and her husband Chad of Port Neches; her sons, David Mullens and Denise of Groves and Benji Mullens of The Woodlands; her sister, Dorothy Pierce and her husband C.T. of Beaumont. She was proud of her grandchildren who knew her as Mama Anne, Daviss Labove, Daniel Mullens, Noah Mullens, Micah Mullens, Blake Mullens, Brandon Mullens, and Shannon Mullens. Also one great grandchild, Cheyenne Mullens.
A gathering of the family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 followed by her funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Her graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Butters Cemetery in Forest Hills, Louisiana.
