James Andrew "Jimmy" Boudreaux Sr.

James Andrew Boudreaux, Sr. (“Jimmy”), 89 of Groves, Texas, passed away
September 18, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas after a brief illness.

Jimmy was born September 12, 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas, to Louis A. Boudreaux and Louise Hebert.

He was a 1952 Graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and was a very proud Yellow Jacket.
Jimmy retired in 1993 after 41 years of service at Texaco/Star Enterprise.

Jimmy was a resident of Groves, Texas for over 62 years and a member of First Baptist Church, Port Arthur, Texas; and, more recently attended Immaculate Conception-St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. At First Baptist, Jimmy was a very active member, serving as a Deacon, on numerous church committees, as well as volunteering with vacation bible school, driving the church bus on Sunday, and serving wherever else he was needed or called upon to serve. Jimmy was the ultimate example of a great Christian man, serving the Lord, his family and others.

Jimmy enjoyed gardening, his fellowship with classmates and former co-workers, and writing poetry for family and friends. He was patient, kind, soft spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bettie Mae Holcomb Boudreaux, in 2008; and his son, James Andrew Boudreaux, Jr. (Jim), in 2020.

He is survived by his Grandson, Cameron Boudreaux and wife, Christy of Lumberton, TX;
Granddaughter, Corynn Boudreaux Stokes and husband, Jason of Lumberton, TX
Great Grandchildren: Corbin and Caitlyn Boudreaux; and, Josie Stokes
Daughter-in-law: Mary Kay Briggs Boudreaux, of Lumberton, TX
Special friends: Johnny Garcia, and Janell Farris and family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022, at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

The Family would like to thank the staff of Silsbee Oaks Healthcare for their love and care of Jimmy over the past 10 months, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital and Harbor Hospice.
