Jose Isidro Vargas Sr.

Jose Isidro Vargas, Sr., 97, of Nederland, Texas passed away September 10, 2019. He was born in Valterria, Mexico on May 15, 1922 to the late Eluterio Vargas and Cruz Sandavol. Jose served his country proudly in the U. S. Army.
Those left to cherish Jose’s memory are his son, Joe Vargas and his wife, Kathy of Nederland; his daughter, Georgiana Vargas of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Jonathan Ripley, Joseph Vargas, and Jacqueline Childs; and his 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials may be given to the Dayton Noon Lyons Club.
