Mary Jane Hargrave

September 28, 1942 — February 18, 2022

Mary Jane Hebert Hargrave, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus and joined her beloved husband, Hubert Lee Hargrave (Tee) on Friday, February 18, 2022. Mary was born September 28, 1942, in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Dewey Hebert and Rose Mary (Besse) Hebert.
Mary had a gift of loving and seeing others through God’s eyes. She believed in starting and ending each day with God and devoted her life to sharing her love of the scripture and the rosary. Mary was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for more than thirty years.
Mary was a homemaker for sixty-one years and her love of hobbies included, crafting, sewing, crocheting, knotting chords and stringing beads together to make rosaries; a passion she shared with her husband. She had a love for working in her yard, gardening and was always cooking or baking. Mary had an infectious smile that would light up a room and her compassionate soul made others feel loved and welcomed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, James Hebert, Betty Hebert Hargrave, Charles Hebert and Roger Hebert.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of grace and love to her children, Tuesday Trimble and her husband, Richard of Groves, Darlene Granger and her husband, Bob of Woodville; son, Bradley Hargrave and his wife, Tracy of Bridge City. Her beloved grandchildren, Jayme Trimble Theriot, Justin Granger and his wife, Caitlin; Jesika and Stephanie Toner, Jenifer Trimble, Jared Trimble and his wife, Jo; John Trimble and his wife, Stacy; Jacob Hargrave and his wife, Thao; Zane Jordan Hargrave and his wife, Makayla, Jillian Hargrave, Janae’ Hargrave and Justyn Hargrave. Her precious great-grandchildren, Hayden Cane, Braden Trimble, Cooper Theriot, Harlee Hargrave, Karson Trimble, Korbin Trimble, Reid Trimble, Harper Hargrave, Kole Trimble and Killian Granger. Mary is also survived by her sister, Gloria Hebert Boyd and brothers, Richard Hebert and his wife, Phyllis and Mark Hebert and his wife, Margaret.
Serving as pallbearers include Jared Trimble, John Trimble, Jacob Hargrave, Zane Jordan Hargrave, Dale Uzzell and Cody Theriot.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Melancon’s Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Immaculate Conception/St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves.
Rite of Committal for Ms. Mary Hargrave will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
