Maude Evelyn was born on February 8, 1931, to Randolph “Dolph” Reid and Myrtle Gray Reid in Allen Parish, La. She was married to Lester Royer on October 7, 1950.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; one son, James and one sister, Shirlene. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Wilda Scoggins and her husband, Warren of Nederland, TX; two sons, Lester Royer and his wife, Glenda of Nederland, TX and Kenneth Royer and his wife, Angie of Pitkin, La; her sister, Lorraine Pender of Pitkin La; seven grandchildren, Anthony Scoggins of Groves, TX; Shelley Wheeler and husband, JD of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Darla Jennings and her husband, Brian of Alexandria, Kentucky; Brett Royer and his wife, Heather of Port Neches TX; Sabrina Braneff and her husband, Matt of Bridge City TX; Kenny Royer and his wife, Melinda of Bridge City TX; James Royer and his wife, Rachel of Orange TX; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Maude Evelyn wanted to have a happy home, filled with laughter and love, so she filled it with children.

She loved cooking from scratch; recipes her mother had passed down. Recipes using a pinch of this and a dash of that. Also, she loved to plant, grow, and arrange flowers.

She was an avid worker in her churchs’ fundraisers by applying her cooking skills. She made fruit cakes, pies, and peanut brittle.

Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church was number one in her life and she faithfully attended.

Our family would like to give thanks to the caring people at Texas Home Health Hospice.
