Roland W. Kennedy, Sr., 70 of Nederland, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Beaumont.
Roland was born in Port Arthur on December 18, 1947 to the late, Fred Horn Kennedy and Myrtle Johnson Kennedy.
Roland worked at Sabine Pilot as the Chief Dispatcher where he had 43 years of service. He loved his family, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Those left to cherish Roland’s memory are his children, Shannon Fulk and husband, Marc of Fannett, Laura Justice and husband, Jeff of Port Neches and Roland Kennedy, Jr. and wife, Laura of Conroe; sister, JoAnn Buff of Port Neches; grandchildren, Rebecca Kennedy, Savannah Powell, Erin Avila, Erika Landherr, Skilor Fulk, Arthur Davis, Shanna Smoke, Jeff Justice, Justin Justice, Taylor Kennedy, Roland Kennedy, III and Brayden Kennedy, and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Roland is preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Patty Foster Kennedy; two brothers, Fred Kennedy, Jr. and James Kennedy; and one sister, Betty Ruth Woods.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Monday evening, June 4, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a time of sharing to begin at 6:00 p.m.
