William "Bill" C. Galmor

January 21, 1926 — July 23, 2022

William “ Bill” C. Galmor: beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather passed away on 07/23/2022.

William was born January 21, 1926 to Forest and Edna Galmor of Saint Jo, Texas. He attended Gainesville High School and Gainesville Junior College. After college, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he trained in Farragut, Idaho. In May of 1944 William was stationed in Port HuenemeTreasure Island, Hawaii and Palmyra. After his service, he returned to Gainesville, Texas as a WWII veteran and married the love of his life, Winnie Bernice Gaston Galmor. As he and Winnie began to build their family, William worked for the state of Texas in several capacities and finished up his career with Dresser Atlas in Houston, Texas.

Over the last forty years William was an active member of Jersey Village Baptist Church . He has spent the last several years reading his bible, enjoying Wheel of Fortune, watching westerns and the birds from his window, playing dominoes and of course enjoying that bowl of Bluebell buttered pecan ice cream.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Winnie Galmor, parents Forest and Edna Galmor and in-laws Leford and Zona Burras.

He is survived by sons; William Galmor and wife Debbie Taylor Galmor and David Vincent Galmor and wife Cathy Galmor. His seven grandchildren; Brandi Mock and husband Roger , Erika Nations and husband Thad, Derek Galmor and wife Anne , Matthew Galmor and wife Crystal, Dustin Galmor and wife Carly, Tiffany Maddox and husband Kevin and Jessica Galmor. His eight great grandchildren; Zachary Nations, Braden Nations, Kennedy Galmor, Jonathan Galmor, Dylan Galmor, Daisy Galmor, Lily Galmor, Kobie Howel and wife Kyla Blevinsl. His one great, great grandchild Ivy Howell.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.

Bill lived for God and cherished his family. He will be dearly missed, but welcomed into his eternal home in the loving arms of our father, Jesus.
